Cultural Burning for Resilience
This project was a partnership between the Murramarang Local Aboriginal Land Council and community, Yuin elders and school children, the NSW Bushfire Hub and the University of Wollongong Global Challenges Program. The project aimed to connect youth to Country and culture through a 3-day cultural burning camp on Murramarang Country. Research through unstructured yarning interviews before, during and after the cultural burning camp demonstrated that it had a profoundly positive impact on the youth and all involved.
